One of the most frustrating things I find walking down a road with a school, youth club or nursery down it is when a car decides to break the speed limit to get wherever they're wanting to end up. The blatant disregard for the fact there is a school there is mind boggling.
I propose a pretty simple change of the law: that zero tolerance, heavily monitored zones are located outside and within a certain distance off schools, where those breaking the law get an immediate driving ban and fine with no option of appeal.
Of course the law should be heavily advertised before it is brought into affect. But the opinion of many in this country is mind boggling as it is, where we have people complaining about speed cameras and the like. It is a very simple case of don't break the law and you won't be punished. You are driving on a public road so you should abide by the public laws.
And if you are going to disregard the laws outside a school, you don't deserve the right to drive a car ever again.
